Description
Rebekkah is a light and spacious traditional Gozitan property that is well furnished and equipped. From the front, double doors open onto an arched hallway that leads into a large open plan living room with wood burning stove, dining area and kitchen. There is a double room and a twin room with en suite on this floor which both have lovely outside terraces with views over the fields to the lighthouse and the sea. There is also a large shower room. A lovely curved stone staircase with ornate railings leads to the first floor, which has a fabulous open landing, leading onto a roof terrace with loungers and table and chairs. There is a twin room, a double room with en suite and Juliet balcony and a large shower room. The bedrooms could easily accommodate a foldaway bed and/or a cot, if required. Rebekkah is accessed via steps up from the road into a secluded complex of just four properties, which can all be booked together for a large wedding or event.
To the rear is the lovely pool with loungers, a built in stone bbq with preparation area and table and chairs seating 8.
The house has fans plus air conditioning in the bedrooms, for both cold air and heat. The air conditioning units are operated using one and two euro coins.
Rebekkah is located on the outskirts of the charming village of Ghasri, which has restaurants, shops, a pharmacy and a distinctive red domed church. A short distance away is the fabulous church of ta Pinu that, since the rumour started in 1883 of our Lady of Ta ‘Pinu talking to a local, has been a pilgrim destination for many. Visitors include St John Paul 11 and Pope Benedict XV1. The Inland sea and spectacular blue hole are a short drive from here as is the local craft village. The capital of Victoria is a ten-minute drive away and a visit to the ramparts of the Citadel to see 360 views of the Island is a must.
